Printers and Accessibility

On the issue of printers and access to wheelchair bound students. The printers are too high and I cannot reach my papers when I am alone. Could you also make sure that the debit card reader is installed closer to the edge and cannot be easily pushed back by mistake? Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Thanks to your suggestion, we have been investigating ways to make the printer more accessible. The printers themselves are quite high because of the amount of paper that gets stored in them. We are looking at getting tables that are much lower so that it is easier to reach your documents. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to ask any library staff member for help reaching your documents.

Regarding the debit card reader, we are going to try using Velcro to “anchor” the  reader near the front of the table.

I am glad you took the time to let us know that the printers could be made much more accessible. Thank you.
