Would it be possible to put a print-card machine in the library proper? It makes sense to have one near the main floor photocopiers, but having one near the library’s computer bank would be better than running downstairs.
While I agree that it is less convenient to have to run downstairs to add money to your card, the Library does not own or operate the machines where you can buy debit cards for copying or printing. They are operated by Printing Services. So it makes sense for the machines to be near the Digital Store, where their staff can help if any problems arise with the machines. The debit card machineĀ also needs to be near Security, for obvious reasons.
Then why is there a machine in the Vanier Library? It is near the circulation desk and I’m sure a similar place can be found in the Webster Library, perhaps near the media desk.
