Vanier Library Shut-down
The Vanier Library will be closed from Monday, May 22, 2017 – Friday, May 26, 2017 (inclusively) due to a power shutdown on the Loyola Campus.
The library will reopen at 10 am on Saturday, May 27th.

Victoria Day / Fête des Patriotes holiday closure
Please note that the Webster & Vanier Libraries will be closed on Monday, May 22nd, for Victoria Day / Fête des Patriotes.
Both Libraries will close Sunday, May 21 at 9 pm, and the Webster Library will reopen on Tuesday, May 23 at 9 am.

- Open for study Monday-Thursday: 9am-10pm

Is it possible to have the laptops cleaned before given out to the next user.
I often receive laptops that are filthy from previous users. I need to bring my own wipes to wipe off the keyboard, etc. It’s quite disgusting
It would be nice if they can be quickly sanitized between users.
Unfortunately, there are far too many loans of laptops (weekly, monthly, yearly) to have a supply of wipes to provide this service.
Library users are free to bring their own wipes if they are concerned and wish to wipe down a laptop or library desktop keyboard before using them.
Hi, With the library being the TO GO place to study, Please extend opening hours for summers. Most of our classes finish at 9 and that does not give us much time to study in a quiet place! Thank you

Opening hours for the Webster Library is based on usage and the needs of users. In the summer, visits to the Libraries are significantly reduced compared to the fall and winter semesters.
There is not enough activity prior to 9:00 a.m. to justify the cost of staffing.

If you are unable to keep a reservation that you’ve made for a Group Study Room, we ask that you please cancel your booking. To cancel your booking follow these steps:
- log into Booked (http://booked.concordia.ca)
- click on My Account
- click on My Bookings
- click on the booking you want to cancel
- click Delete
Thank you for deleting reservations you are unable to make, it allows other students to book the room.

I do not know who to address with this issue, but in the new 3rd floor, many people started using the middle area between the 2 silent study rooms as a place to talk on their phone. I understand that this is not a “silent” room but it still shouldn’t be used for extensive phone conversations. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your comment! The area between the new silent study rooms was designed as a collaborative space, and low voice talking in this area is allowed. Any loud conversation is not allowed. In terms of cell phones, I agree that extended conversations on a cell phone are often particularly distracting to others, even if in a low voice and are probably best done outside of the Library.
We are in the process of reviewing our rules and regulations regarding noise in the Library, as well as our messaging and communication to students, so your comment is most helpful. On a positive note, we will soon have a special team of staff in place who will be identified as Study Hall Monitors and who will be dedicated to patrolling and monitoring all of the study spaces at Webster Library to help enforce quiet zones and acceptable behavior.

Concordia University Libraries
I am a Concordia student that spends many hours at the loyola library studying for final exams. I want to make a suggestion and see if its possible to raise the temperature on the first floor where the tables are stationed along the windows. there is a vent that constantly blows cold air to the floor which is a distraction since it gets very cold sitting in a seat for multiple hours without movement. if its possible may the temperature be changed to a comfortable environment.

You can always report building issues in person at any of our service desks during opening hours and we will contact the responsible departments.
Well for the year 2014-2015, the library has been a horror. No space to ever be found if you arrive after 12. I understand that a whole floor is being renovated, so space is lmited but the internet!! wow, the internet is unreal !! How is it disconnecting every 5mins??? My experience for this winter semester was awful. I might sound repetitive, but the internet ! we need it as students to get access to information posted online. Please, could it be fixed?

In terms of the wireless, the best course of action is to contact the IITS service desk with the issue, as they administer wifi for the entire campus.
By submitting a ticket (filling in an email form), IITS will be able to follow up with you directly to determine if the issue is an isolated case caused by a malfunctioning or misconfigured device, or if the problem is more widespread and warrants a more in-depth investigation into the infrastructure.
